ASTM A213 T11 Pipe & Tubes

Sachin Steel is a trusted supplier and stockist of high-quality ASTM A213 T11 Alloy Steel Tubes, widely used in boilers, heat exchangers, and superheaters. SA213 T11 is a seamless ferritic low-alloy steel grade designed with carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulphur, silicon, chromium, and molybdenum. This composition provides excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, making these tubes suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications.

SA213 T11 tubes exhibit superior tensile strength of 415 MPa and yield strength of 220 MPa, with elongation up to 30%. With a density of 7.85 g/cm³ and maximum hardness of 179 HB, they deliver outstanding durability and toughness in stress-induced environments. These tubes are manufactured through hot or cold rolling processes, with cold-drawn variants offering enhanced strength and a smooth surface finish.

The manufacturing process ensures seamless construction, eliminating weak weld seams and providing higher load-bearing capacity. ASTM A213 T11 Seamless Tubes are widely utilised in power plants, petrochemicals, and thermal plants for steam generation and heat transfer. SA213 T11 Heat Exchanger Tubes efficiently transfer heat between fluids, while SA213 T11 Superheater Tubes enhance boiler efficiency by maintaining consistent steam output.

Heat treatment plays a vital role in achieving optimum properties. The recommended annealing temperature is 1066°C (1950°F), with water quenching or rapid cooling for thinner sections. For hot forging, temperatures range between 1232°C (2250°F) and 982°C (1800°F), ensuring dimensional accuracy and mechanical reliability.

What is ASTM A213 T11 Tubes?

ASTM A213 T11 tubes are seamless ferritic alloy steel tubes designed for high-temperature service in boilers, heat exchangers, and superheaters. Manufactured with a precise blend of chromium and molybdenum, these tubes offer excellent strength, creep resistance, and durability under elevated temperatures and pressures.

The seamless design enhances their load-bearing capacity and ensures reliable performance in demanding environments. Widely used in power generation and industrial heating systems, ASTM A213 T11 Tubes maintain structural integrity even in corrosive and oxidative conditions, making them a preferred choice for critical operations requiring efficiency, safety, and long service life.

What is ASME SA213 T11?

SA 213 T11 is a seamless ferritic low-alloy steel grade widely used in boilers, heat exchangers, and power generation systems. Manufactured with a balanced composition of carbon, manganese, silicon, chromium, molybdenum, and other elements, these tubes deliver excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation at elevated temperatures.

With a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa and yield strength of 220 MPa, SA 213 T11 tubes offer superior durability and toughness in high-pressure environments. They feature a density of 7.85 g/cm³, a maximum hardness of 179 HB, and can be produced through hot-rolling or cold-drawn processes for enhanced performance.

FAQs About Alloy Steel ASME SA213 T11 & ASTM A213 T11

ASME SA213 refers to the specification for seamless ferritic and austenitic alloy steel boiler, superheater, and heat exchanger tubes designed for high-pressure and high-temperature service. Grades like T11, T22, and others fall under this standard.

SA213 T11 tubes are suitable for operating temperatures up to around 600°C (1112°F), making them reliable for high-temperature steam and thermal service applications.

The equivalent materials for SA213 T12 include ASTM A213 T12 and UNS K11562, which are used for similar applications in boiler and heat exchanger systems.

The main difference lies in chromium and molybdenum content. T11 contains 1.25% Cr and 0.5% Mo, while T22 has 2.25% Cr and 1% Mo. This makes T22 stronger with better creep resistance at higher temperatures compared to T11.
