It is characterized by good corrosion resistance, low density, moderate strength, and good workability, making it widely used in chemical processing, marine, desalination, power generation, and other demanding applications. ASTM B348 and ASME SB348 standards apply to Titanium Grade 2 rod that is assigned the designation UNS R50400. The material demonstrates very good performance, even in sea water, chlorides, and other corrosive environments.
