Nitinol Shape Memory Sheet is a nickel-titanium (NiTi) alloy sheet designed to regain a predetermined shape when it is heated above its transformation temperature. These sheets are produced to meet ASTM F2063 / ASME SF2063 standards to ensure a controlled thermal actuation and will recover their intended shape repeatedly while delivering useful force. They can be provided in various thicknesses, sizes, thermal processing conditions, and so on for a range of thermal actuators, switches, aerospace applications, robotics, medical products, and precision mechanisms. Material test certificates for chemical and mechanical testing and transformation temperature can also be provided for custom-cut sheets. Sachin Steel Centre manufactures and supplies Nitinol Shape Memory Sheet for research, prototyping and industrial use, with custom sizes, technical support and export from India.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Nitinol Shape Memory Sheet is a nickel-titanium (NiTi) sheet that can recover its preset shape when heated above its transformation temperature.

It works through a reversible phase transformation from martensite to austenite. When heated above its transformation range, the sheet returns toward its programmed shape.

The shape memory effect is the ability of Nitinol Sheet to recover a previously programmed shape after deformation when it is heated through its transformation range.

The Af temperature is the temperature at which the transformation to austenite is complete and the sheet finishes recovering its programmed shape.

Yes, it can be customized by thickness, width, length, shape-set configuration, and transformation temperature according to application requirements.

Yes, Nitinol Shape Memory Sheet can be cut, formed, stamped, or machined using suitable processes, depending on its thickness and material condition.

Pick an Af above the highest temperature at which the sheet must stay soft and below the temperature your heater reaches.

Shape memory sheet needs heat to recover its shape. Superelastic sheet springs back when the load is removed. See our Nitinol Super Elastic Sheet page.
