Titanium Grade 12, UNS R53400 and W.Nr. 3.7105, is a low alloy grade of titanium which contains about 0.3% molybdenum and 0.8% nickel. They enhance its crevice corrosion resistance in hot chloride brines and mild reducing acid mediums, yet are still weldable. Grade 12 has a design allowable tensile strength of around 50% greater than Grade 2 commercially pure Titanium up to 300°C. This corrosion resistance, strength and weldability make it ideal for applications in piping and process equipment that demand performance in harsh environments.
