The Beryllium Copper C17200 Square Plate is a high-strength copper alloy flat product suitable for precision parts that demand a combination of strength, conductivity, and wear resistance. Also known as Alloy 25, C17200, CDA 172 or CuBe2, this alloy is a composition of approximately 1.80 to 2.00 percent beryllium, plus cobalt and nickel. Square plate is fabricated to ASTM B194 and available solution-annealed, cold worked, age hardened or mill hardened. C17200 has a tensile strength of approximately 1550 MPa and an HRC of 45, and has good thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, depending on temper. Typical uses are mould inserts, welding backing plates, heat sinks and wear plates.
