Nitinol Super Elastic Sheet is an alloyed sheet made up of nickel titanium (NiTi) that can be bent many times without heating and will spring back to its original shape. When used at temperatures higher than the Austenite finish temperature (Af), the sheet will be able to display super elastic properties. Super elasticity applies when the material is stressed causing it to change to stress induced martensite and then change back to austenite when the stress is removed. Nitinol sheet ASTM F2063 by quantity to match your medical device project’s component thickness, width, length, and cut shape in the case of robotics, aerospace, and precision engineering. Sachin Steel Centre can provide you with a Nitinol Super Elastic Sheet for industrial and specialized applications, with material certification, customized specifications, and technical support.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Nitinol Super Elastic Sheet is a nickel-titanium alloy sheet that can undergo significant deformation and return to its original shape when the applied load is removed.

It works through a reversible stress-induced transformation from austenite to martensite during loading and back to austenite during unloading.

Superelastic Nitinol recovers its shape when the load is removed, while shape memory Nitinol requires heating above its transformation temperature for shape recovery.

A properly designed superelastic Nitinol sheet can typically recover up to about 8% strain, depending on material condition and operating conditions.

Sachin Steel Centre supplies Nitinol super elastic sheet from 0.076 to 2.5 mm thick, up to 90 mm wide as standard, with custom widths on request, and up to 500 mm long, with custom cut lengths.

Yes, they can be customized in thickness, width, length, surface finish, cut shape, and transformation temperature according to application requirements.

For repeated use at about 4% strain, the minimum inner bend radius is 12 times the sheet thickness. A 0.5 mm sheet needs a 6 mm radius.
