Grade 23 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V ELI UNS R56401) is a very pure grade of titanium, which has a lower interstitial content. This grade is known to be more ductile and tough. Its density is around 4.42 – 4.47 g/cm³ and it consists of 5.5–6.5% aluminum and 3.5–4.5% vanadium. Grade 23 has a minimum tensile strength of 860 MPa, minimum yield strength of 795 MPa and minimum elongation of 10% for applicable bar sizes per ASTM F136 in the annealed state. The properties allow it to be used for orthopedic implants, surgical components, dental applications, aerospace components, and service in cryogenic applications.
