HOMETitanium AlloyTitanium Pipes & Tubes

Sachin Steel Product Banner_21 Aug_004

Titanium Pipes & Tubes are tubes designed for use in extreme environments where corrosion resistance, strength and control of wall dimensions are required. ASTM B861 specifies seamless pipe made from Titanium & Titanium-Alloy in various grades (Gr 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 11, 12) for corrosion resistant and elevated temperature service. The minimum tensile strength of annealed Grade 2 is 345 MPa, the minimum yield strength is 275 MPa and elongation of 20% is required. They are available in seamless and welded products for heat exchanges, chemical processes, marine and aerospace applications. Sachin Steel Centre is a source of titanium pipes and tubes, Titanium Grade 2 Pipes & Tubes and Titanium alloys for different applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Titanium Pipes & Tubes are tubular products made from commercially pure titanium or titanium alloys. They are valued for their corrosion resistance, strength, low weight and suitability for demanding industrial environments.

Yes. Titanium is well suited for pipes because it offers excellent corrosion resistance, good strength-to-weight performance and strong resistance to seawater and many chemical environments.

The main disadvantages are higher material cost, more demanding fabrication and welding requirements, and lower wear resistance compared with some harder engineering materials.

Titanium pipe is generally specified by nominal pipe size and schedule or wall thickness, while tube is commonly specified by its outside diameter and wall thickness. Tubes are often used for heat exchangers and instrumentation.

The price depends on the grade, size, wall thickness, manufacturing method, specification, quantity and surface finish. Custom dimensions and special testing can also affect the final price.

Titanium tubes are used in heat exchangers, condensers, desalination equipment, chemical processing systems, marine equipment, aerospace systems and pharmaceutical equipment.
